Department of Systems, Signals and Electronics Engineering (KISSE)

Technical expertise with regard to the scope of the project:
Dep. of Systems, Signals and Electronics Engineering (KISSE) will contribute to electronic expertise of explored biosensors. Specific tasks defined in work packages related to measurements, signal analysis, parameter optimization, and design of biosensor devices will be performed by the team of KISSE.

The Department of Systems, Signals and Electronics Engineering was formed in 2010, on the basis of the Department of Cybernetics and Electronics (established in 1973). Currently it is within the structure of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, ZUT. Main research and educational activities of the Department are Electronics, Signal Processing, Biomedical Engineering and Acoustics. The Department has been participating in several national and EU educational as well as scientific initiatives. Also bilateral international cooperation with several university centres is well established. Numerous projects have been run within these areas, with financial support from the government and industry and in close cooperation with the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin.

Equipment:
The Department of Systems, Signals and Electronics Engineering (KISSE) has several well equipped research labs, including analog and digital circuits, advanced microprocessor and programmable logical circuits, signal processing, speech processing and analysis, acoustical engineering and sound system design, biomedical engineering, biomedical imaging, teleinformatics. Standard measurement equipment (e.g. generators, oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, evaluation boards) has been used as well as dedicated systems, including licensed software.
